Project-based Learning
Roosevelt strives to provide an education to our students using innovative and exciting teaching methods.
Project Based Learning (PBL) is one such method in which students learn by actively engaging in real-world and personally meaningful projects. At Roosevelt, we are working hard to provide the opportunity for completion of a variety of projects connected within diverse content areas and curriculum that provide opportunities for students to be hands on.
New at Roosevelt for the 2020/2021 school year is the Roosevelt Makerspace. The Makerspace provides a location for Roosevelt students to brainstorm PBL ideas and see them to fruition with the guidance of an instructional coach. The Maker Space currently has woodshop and metal working supplies, 3D printer and design software, laser engraver/cutter, Lego wall art supplies and so much more on the way for students to use in order to bring their projects to life. Access to these tools and various supplies will cultivate our students’ passion for learning, inventing, tinkering, and creating.
